Summary: The Competition subject consists of elaborating an architectural concept for the development of the area confined by Sibgat Khakim St., the Riviera Hotel Complex, the water of the Kazanka River and the park.

Description:

The architectural concept shall include:
The preliminary master plan of the Designed Area with all its functional areas (zones), infrastructure and capital construction object; and
General city planning, layout, transport, space planning, architectural, landscaping, engineering and other solutions.

Competition Objectives

Working up a proposal for balanced development of the area and the riverwalk in connection with the park designed on the adjacent site, which would form a unique silhouette of the right bank of the Kazanka River;
Development of the city landmark, which does not interfere with the visual perception of the cultural heritage object the Kazan Kremlin Ensemble, XVI-XVIII centuries.

The total amount of the prize fund is RUB 8,100,000.

Following the results of the jury meeting, and in accordance with the distribution of top places, the winner and prize-winners of the competition will be awarded the following prizes (including applicable taxes and fees):
the 1st place – one prize in the amount of RUB 3,000,000;
the 2nd place – two prizes in the amount of RUB 1,500,000 each;
the 3rd place – three prizes in the amount of 700,000 rubles each.

Christos Passas, Associate Director at Zaha Hadid Architects (Great Britain) (to be agreed upon).
Michel Péna, landscape architect, Ex-President of the French Federation of Landscape Architects (France).
Tatiana Prokofieva, expert of the Kazan City Duma.
Angelina Samadova, Client’s representative, Project Manager, Hotels & Hospitality Group JLL, Russia & CIS.
Dina Sattarova, Director of the State Research and Design Institute for Urban Planning of the City of Moscow (to be agreed upon).
Sergey Skuratov, architect, President of Sergey Skuratov Architects, Board Member of the Union of Moscow Architects, Professor at the International Academy of Architecture.
Ilsiyar Yukhvatullina, Chief Architect of Kazan City.
Nikolay Shumakov, President of the Union of Architects of Russia, Chief Architect at Metrogiprotrans JSC, member of the Architectural Council of Moscow, member of the Russian Academy of Arts, People’s Architect of the Russian Federation (to be agreed upon).
